Arne Slot admitted that it was expected for doubts to be raised about his future after a further convincing loss against PSV Eindhoven.

The Reds suffered their 9th loss in twelve matches, representing the team's worst streak since being relegated in 1953-54.

They were taken apart by the Dutch league title holders on a tough evening at their home ground.

“I'm confident, I'm fine, I've received a lot of support from management,” Slot stated.

“It's important to turn it around and earn three points obviously but when you're working as a coach and struggling then it's expected that people question you.”

He continued, “I'm comfortable with my role. This isn't the first time I’ve been in a tough spot but it is about time that we improved our results.”

Discussions with Liverpool Hierarchy

Upon being questioned to provide details on his dialogues with the team officials, the head coach explained:

“There's regular dialogue. They assist to the team and for me and we discuss these matters but they aren't calling me every single minute of the day to say they trust me.”

He further stated, “In the normal conversations we have I perceive the trust. But I've not talked to them since this game so far so let’s see.”

Recurring Problems and Squad Reaction

The manager highlighted known shortcomings from his Liverpool side in their European loss, namely wasted chances and conceding too easily.

Meanwhile, midfielder Jones was more direct in his evaluation of the current crisis.

“I haven't got the solutions. Truthfully, I do not. I'm telling that to all,” the midfielder remarked.

“It is not good enough. I don't need to wait to think about it. I’m past being angry inside. I’m at the point now where I just don’t have the phrases.”

He added, “It’s hard because I play for the team I support. I’m a fan, and I’ve seen this club for years.”

“In a long, long time, I haven’t experienced a Reds side going through a period of this nature with results like these.”

Jones concluded, “But we continue to wear the emblem on our chest. And until that badge is gone, we will always fight.”

“We’re going to try to get this team back to where it needs to be, show everyone again what this club is about and why it's known as the greatest side in the world.”

“However currently, we’re in the shit and it must improve.”
