Football Analyst Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game victorious streak was ended by Sunderland before the international hiatus, however can the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

Murs' latest album, the new release, is available on Friday.

Soccer and Parenting Experiences

Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity game the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "My side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or boy decides to play instead."

Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I won't force football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their weekend football team," he said.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our team for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is now more potent with Pedro and Delap both back fit.

I still think this game will be fairly close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their sole home losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

It suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple games - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' sole away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's manager.

Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - can the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I will go with the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign started, but they have impressed a few people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their last four games.

A family member told me to get Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much fortune on the travel this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. Brentford will attempt to attack on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually proves to be quite tight. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six games.

Fulham have got lots of quality in their squad but it still seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.

As for the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

The away side's display in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not witnessed anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing would be to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the end of October.

However I am not choose that. Rather, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's home record, the sole team they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be extremely eager for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard fixture to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but could they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
