Former Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have announced that a former doctor stands accused of performing sexual assaults against 38 individuals who were patients.
Details of the Serious Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A senior prosecutor said, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
The charges come after what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

The charging documents outline the 45 sexual offences include:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
