New Details Emerge About the Location of the Reiner Couple's Remains

New information has come to light about the untimely demises of renowned film director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were found at their residence home on Sunday.

The Discovery

A source indicates quoting a family associate, a massage therapist arriving for an session was the first to notice something was wrong after failing to get inside the residence. The therapist then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives nearby.

Upon entering the residence, Romy discovered her father's body. It is said she then fled the house in anguish, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Her roommate who had gone with her contacted 911. Subsequently, first responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Proceedings

Authorities have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of first-degree murder, as well as the alleged use of a deadly weapon, said to be a knife. He is now in custody and is ineligible for bail.

Disputed Reports

The person close to the family also disputed several earlier details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick lived in a separate structure on the property, she did not identify him as a suspect at that juncture.

Additionally disputed published notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "concerned" about Nick's actions in the weeks leading up to the incident. The source claimed the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

This refutation applies to descriptions of alleged "unstable" behavior by Nick at a event thrown by Conan O'Brien on the night before the discovery. While the source noted they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they asserted that reports of a "blow-up" between the two were inaccurate.

Ongoing Inquiry Timeline

Per law enforcement officials, the medical examiner had yet to determine as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Preliminary media reports suggested the condition of their bodies pointed to they had been deceased for some hours.

Nick Reiner was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, roughly 15 miles from the family home. He was set to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, indicated his client had not received medical clearance and would be unable to attend until Wednesday at the earliest.
