Trump Invites Relatives of Shot Military Members to the White House
Former President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that he has asked the relatives of a Guard member tragically killed last week to attend the executive mansion.
He noted that he contacted her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.
Information on the Heartbreaking Incident
Specialist Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a violent incident on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.
Her colleague, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in critical condition.
Gatherings across West Virginia have occurred in their remembrance.
Presidential Call
The commander-in-chief stated he’s talked about a visit to the White House for the families of both soldiers of the West Virginia National Guard.
“I said: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a difficult moment, visit the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” Trump told journalists. “And similarly with him, recover or not.”
Public Support
Attendees assembled over the past few days at the high school in West Virginia to remember Beckstrom.
Both she and Wolfe had been serving with the military unit as part of Trump’s national effort to assist law enforcement in Washington DC.
Paying Tribute to Sarah Beckstrom
“Sarah was the type of pupil that educators desired. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a bright grin and a positive energy that lifted people around her,” the principal, the principal of Beckstrom’s former high school, stated to the Associated Press. “She was caring, caring and always willing to support those in need.”
Memorial plans for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.
Legal Measures and Government Revisions
Law enforcement have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder while armed.
The tragedy led the administration to pause refugee claims and cease providing entry permits to possessors of passports from Afghanistan.
Status of Wolfe
The airman, a native of Martinsburg, began his service in February 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, as reported by the AP.
He remains under medical supervision and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia governor Patrick Morrisey mentioned on television.
The state’s top lawyer the attorney general told the program that she also intended to meet with his relatives.
Legacy of Sarah Beckstrom
Sarah, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County high school in 2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a MP with distinction, according to the state guard.
“She had a lot of goodness and she definitely had courage,” the governor informed the crowd at the vigil. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has made an impact that’s going to last forever.”
